Voices “We must learn to respect each other more and live together better in order to achieve more” where I cannot. This doesn’t mean that I can’t reach the top, but rather that I need to be aware and find the best path for me. Which three adjectives best describe Spain? Resilience, plurality and solidarity. Could you learn about leadership in the mountains? Very much so. In fact, it’s what I do for a living these days. You learn to understand and motivate a team to achieve a goal, and to understand that without that team, many of the goals are no longer achievable. What are Spain’s limitations as a country, and how can it address them? We undervalue ourselves. We have a lot of talent, creativity and ability to do great things, but we need to believe in ourselves more and stop looking so much at what others are doing. What would you like to hear said about Spain in 20 years’ time? That Spain was able to believe in itself and that we knew how to take advantage of the talent, energy and diversity within our society. What have you learnt from travelling that you do not think you could have learnt in Spain? That you can be happy with very little. Most of the countries we have visited on expeditions are experiencing difficulties, but we have encountered happy people who open the doors of their homes to us and share what little they have with a smile on their faces. What habit should we develop in Spain? Greater respect for differences. In a country that is tremendously diverse and culturally rich, we should learn to respect each other more and live together better in order to achieve much more. And which one should we lose? Envy. Stop constantly looking at the plate of the person next to you. We would avoid frustration and be one step closer to happiness. How important is talent compared to effort? Talent is, undeniably, very important. That innate spark for certain things is a great advantage, but at the end of the day, without effort and perseverance, we wouldn’t get anywhere. 58 nabasaP enrudE :yhpargotohP
